A room by room renovation project that lasted nearly 10 years, this home was like a butterfly evolving from it’s chrysalis. Gone were the yellow walls and rimu windows and in came fresh white joinery and modern neutrals with pops of muted colour
Childrens’ bedrooms in quirky spaces were designed in consultation with the smallest of clients and provided a fun environment to last at least a few years!
The family bathroom renovation incorporated natural timbers with bespoke cabinetry and modern fittings. The kitchen breakfast bar followed through with this beautiful timber work and included stainless steel for practicality. Restored Matai flooring with charcoal units maximised the narrow walk space between the dining area and courtyard adding to the limited storage in the existing kitchen layout
The exterior colour was so coveted in this seaside suburb the owners were constantly asked what particular shade it was, only to see it appearing on homes all around the area
This house began life as a 2 bedroom, 2 storied house and evolved through various renovations (some better than others) into a 5-bedroom modest family home that is both comfortable and stylish
